The Ivy & Oak Collection is inspired by the picturesque hamlet built for Marie Antoinette at the palace of Versailles. The collection reflects the beauty of nature and the love of a country existence - or at least how the royal palace architects romanticized it at the whim of a young queen. The simple shape of each piece is inspired by the bucket Marie Antoinette carried as she pretended to be a milkmaid at her village refuge.

“I wanted to capture the balance between palace and country life in this collection. The delicate, winding cast ivy wraps around faux-bois etched metal elements, offering a romanticized interpretation of a simple life on the farm.”

The Black Orchid Collection was inspired by the powerful sensuality of orchids and the rich ambiance of haute couture – strikingly simple yet full of the most extreme detail. The collection has an almost gothic feeling – opiated, lush, and smoldering – like the dark, velvety atmosphere of a luxurious evening.

"There is something so seductive about orchids. In blackened nickel, they are even more sublime, like a woman wearing a black velvet gown floating through a great estate or a glassy urban high-rise. The dark atmosphere of the orchids against the hammered metal is like the afterglow of a beautiful evening."

The Mirage Collection is inspired by Michael's workshop in India and his love of ancient craftsmanship. Made using traditional hand forging techniques, Mirage has a contemporary feel that reflects the modernity of design. The forged steel becomes pliable under the force of the hammer to create a rippled and undulating effect, which reminds Michael of waves and dunes. Once polished, the stainless-steel shimmers in the light, like the sun on the water.

"I am fascinated with the idea of nature's tricks. Just like the elusive mirage in the desert, the hammered polished metal belies the material, mimicking the illusions created between the sun and water."
